SSC MTS (Staff Selection Commission Multi Tasking Staff) is a government job. This post is under the Home Ministry of India. Multi Tasking Staff employees are assigned the responsibility of work in Group C non-gazetted non-ministerial posts in various ministries and departments and offices of the Central Government. 

The employee working in this post has to do various types of office work such as managing files, carrying mail, transporting goods, etc. The minimum educational qualification for this is 10th pass.

SSC mts Notification 2025

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) 2024 recruitment. Candidates whose age is 18 to 25 years (with additional relaxation to reserved category). You can apply for this through online mode on its official website ssc.gov.in. How to join SSC MTS?

To join the SSC MTS post, you will first have to appear for the Multi Tasking Staff Examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. To participate in this, you will first have to apply on its official website. After that you will have to pass its examination. Passing the examination is the starting step. This exam paper is divided into two parts. 

There is no negative marking in the first part and there is negative marking in the second part. More information about this is given in the syllabus section. And the merit list is also prepared from this second part. After this, your joining is done after document verification.

Eligibility for SSC MTS

SSC mts education qualification 

It is mandatory for the candidates applying for SSC MTS to have passed 10th class (matriculation). And if you have done this qualification from a recognized educational institution, then you can apply for it. And there is no minimum mark to apply in SSC MTS recruitment, if you have low marks in 10th class then you can apply for it.

SSC MTS age required

SSC MTS Salary

The salary structure of SSC MTS (Multi-Tasking Staff) falls under Pay Level 1 of the 7th Pay Commission. Its basic salary starts from Rs.18000 and there are other additions to it, the details of which are given below.

SSC MTS selection process 

The selection process of SSC MTS is completed in 4 stages. 
  1. Stage : Application stage-When SSC starts accepting applications for multitasking, you will have to apply for it on the official website.
  2. Stage: CBE - In the second stage, there is CBE. The computer based examination for multitasking is conducted in 2 parts, the information of which is given in the Sllybus section. 
  3. Stage: Document verification - Candidates who have passed the computer based examination by SSC will be called for document verification and all the necessary documents such as Aadhar card, caste certificate, income certificate, PAN card, complete information of which can be checked in the notification. 
  4. Stage Merit list - This is the final list in which only the names and roll numbers of the selected candidates are there. They are appointed in various offices and joining letters are given for appointment.

SSC MTS Sllybus and exame pattern

The exam for MTS will consist of Computer Based Test (CBE) and for Havildar will consist of CBE and Physical Efficiency/Standard Test (PET/PST). CBE will be conducted in Hindi, English and 13 regional languages. 


CBE will be held in two sessions (Session-I and Session-II) of 45 minutes each, both sessions will be compulsory. There will be no negative marking in Session-I, while in Session-II, 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the Staff Selection Commission’s official website at ssc.gov.in.
  2. Go to the Apply Section: Click on the "Apply" section available on the homepage.
  3. Login: Enter your User ID, password, and CAPTCHA to log in.
    • If you haven’t completed One-Time Registration (OTR) previously, you need to register first.
  4. Register:
    • Complete the registration process if you haven’t done so before.
    • After registration, log in using your newly created ID and password.
  5. Select SSC MTS: Click on the SSC MTS application link to access the application window.
  6. Fill Application Form:
    • Carefully fill out the application form.
    • Ensure that all information matches your documents.
  7. Make Payment: After filling in the application form, proceed to make the payment.
  8. Submit Application: Finally, submit your application.
