What is SSC GD?
SSC GD is a national level exam in India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission of India. The candidates selected by it are appointed as constables in various paramilitary forces of India. The candidates selected through this exam are appointed on the following posts:
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
- Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
- National Investigation Agency (NIA)
- Secretariat Security Force (SSF)
- Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles
It is held only once a year.
Latest SSC GD notification
SSC GD has released the notification to fill the vacant posts of general duty for the year 2024 to 25 and applicants can apply from 5th September 2024 and the last date of application is 14th October.
And if you have made any mistake while applying, then you can correct your mistake from 05.11.2024 to 07.11.2024 (23:00) because the application correction window will remain open on this date

SSC GD eligibility
Qualifications have been prescribed for General Duty posts, if the candidate fulfills them. Only then he can apply for SSC GD Constable 2024-25 and only if he acquires all these qualifications by 01-01-2025 date, then these qualifications will be valid, which are given below in detail.
Education qualification
For the General Duty SSC, it is mandatory to pass the Matriculation or 10th class examination from a recognized board or university. Please remember that this qualification must be obtained by the candidate on or before January 1, 2025. If the qualification is obtained after this date, it will not be valid for the 2024-25 SSC GD recruitment.
Additionally, if a candidate has an NCC certificate, they will receive incentive or bonus marks as follows:
- NCC 'C' Certificate: 5% of the maximum marks in the examination
- NCC 'B' Certificate: 3% of the maximum marks in the examination
- NCC 'A' Certificate: 2% of the maximum marks in the examination
Age limit
The age limit for SSC GD Constable Vacancy has been set by the Staff Selection Commission. This age limit is between 18 to 23 years i.e. if the age of the candidate is between 18 to 23 years, then he can apply. This means that the candidate was not born after 01-01-2007 and before 02-01-2002. However, if you come under other reserved categories like OBC, ST, SC, US, then there is a provision of relaxation in age for you, the detailed description of which is given below.

SSC GD selection process 2024-25
The selection of SSC GD constable is completed in the selection process. In the first stage, there is a computer based test. For this, 60 minutes are given. After this, there is a physical test. SSC GD constable physical test
Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for SSC GD Constable are conducted to ascertain the physical fitness of the candidates. These physical tests are required to assess the physical fitness of only those candidates who perform well in the CBE Computer Based Examination.
